Bryant XC heads to Connecticut Friday for CCSU Mini Meet

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – The Bryant University cross country team will head to New Britain, Conn. For the Central Connecticut State University Mini Meet on Friday, with the meet beginning at 3 p.m. This is the second trip to New Britain, Connecticut, for the Bulldogs this season, first competing in the Ted Owen Invitational on Sept. 23. The meet will be held at Stanley Quarter Park.

The CCSU Mini Meet is a non-traditional course that is a bit shorter than most courses. The men run a 5K, while the women will compete in a 3K.

"We're out there this weekend to time trial," said Bryant cross country head coach Noah Carroll. "It's a short course, so it will be a nice little boost of confidence to go out, race the NEC course and run fast under what they normally run in distance."

In their last meet, the Bulldogs saw Melissa Lodge (Hopkinton, Mass.) finish 15th overall. Ryan Poholek (North Attleboro, Mass.) and Noah Tellier (North Kingstown, R.I.) also had successful meets, with Poholek running to a 33rd place finish and Tellier crossing the line 37th.

This will be the final meet before the NEC Championships, which will begin next Saturday, Oct. 28, again at the New Britain course.
