SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Upholding what it means to be a true Bulldog, both Bryant University’s men’s lacrosse and women’s tennis were named 2015-16 Northeast Conference Team Sportsmanship Award Winners.

SMITHFIELD, R.I. –Barbara Cilli, head coach of the Bryant University women’s tennis team, reclaimed her title as the Northeast Conference Coach of the Year after taking her Bulldogs back to the conference tournament, where just named first teamers, Linnea Sjoberg (Stockholm, Sweden), Ashanti Campfield (Stratford, Conn.) and Stefanie Arroyo (Gurabo, Puerto Rico) helped carry the team to their second-straight NEC title match.

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – All tied at three, the Northeast Conference Title came down to the third set in No. 3 singles, where No. 2 Fairleigh Dickinson’s Liza Rachenko edged out junior Marion Bouillin (San Diego, Calif.), 6-4, helping the Knights find their fourth championship in five years as they defeated the No. 1 Bulldogs, 4-3, Sunday afternoon in West Windsor.

The APR is an annual scorecard of academic achievement calculated for all Division I sports teams nationally.
