Spring football game this Saturday (April 26)

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – The Bryant University football team wraps up its spring practices this Saturday, April 26 with its annual Black and Gold Spring Football Game. Kickoff is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. at the Bryant Turf Complex.

Admission to the spring game will be $10 and includes admittance to the game and to the postgame barbeque. Fans will also have  chance to win several great raffle prizes and giveaways.

According to the final two-deep from the 2013 season, the Bulldogs will welcome back six starters on offense and eight on defense this upcoming fall. The offense includes rising junior Chad Ward (Delray Beach, Fla.) at wide receiver and all five running backs from last year led by fifth-year senior Michael Perry (Dunmore, Pa.).

Defensively, rising senior Jeff Covitz (Reading, Mass.), the school's all-time leader in tackles for a loss, is back to head-man a very talented unit. Bryant also welcomes back all three of its primary linebackers led by rising senior Sam Sammons (Cypress, Texas) and its entire defensive secondary.

Bryant opens its 11th season under Marty Fine on Thursday, August 28 at Stony Brook.
