BRYANT STUDENT-ATHLETES EARN NEC SCHOLAR AWARDS

SOMERSET, NJ Four Bryant University student-athletes have been named to the Northeast Conference Winter Commissioners Honor Roll and 18 additional student-athletes have been named to the NEC Academic Honor Roll announced this week by the conference office. The Commissioners Honor Roll honors those with a 3.75 or better grade point average. All Scholar-Athlete award winners must have earned a minimum of 60 semester hours, maintained a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.20 and participated with distinction as a member of a varsity team.

SMITHFIELD, R.I.- Up against one of the most difficult schedules that a first year Division I program could face, the Bryant University mens basketball team came away with an 8-21 record, highlighted by a three-game road win streak at the beginning of February and six wins against Northeast Conference opponents.

SMITHFIELD, R.I. -- Bryant University women's basketball junior captain Kelsey O'Keefe (Warren, Mass.) and men's basketball junior Cecil Gresham (Bloomfield, Conn.)were honored with 2009 Division I All-Independent nods, as selected by the 14 Independent coaches and administrators Wednesday afternoon. The leading scorer for each of their respective teams, O'Keefe was named to the All-Independent Second Team while Gresham earned an Honorable Mention bid.

SMITHFIELD, R.I.- The Bryant University mens basketball team has announced that it will hold three, one-week long day camps at the Chace Athletic Center this summer. The camps will take place during the weeks of June 22-26, June 29- July 3, and August 3- August 7, running from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m.

SMITHFIELD, R.I. - In the fall of 2005, four young men arrived on the campus of Bryant University with a college basketball career in front of them. At the time, the program was in Division II, and a highly successful one at that. The four young men all roomed together right away, and as their journey draws to a close, they are now part of a Division I program.
