Bulldogs host Golden Griffins on Friday and Bulls on Sunday

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – The Bryant University men's soccer team hosts a weekend of action, welcoming Canisius on Friday at 3 p.m. and Buffalo on Sunday at 1 p.m.

The Bulldogs (0-2-1) return to play, looking for their first win of the season after tying Lafayette, 1-1, in double overtime on Sept. 6. Senior Brett Larocque (Ottawa, Ont.) scored the lone goal for Bryant in the match and leads the squad with four points off two goals.

Junior midfielder Curtis Orth (Ancaster, Ont.) earned one assist and sits atop the shot chart, totaling nine on the year.

Senior goalkeeper Chris Knaub (Yarmouth, Maine) continues his campaign in net for the Black and Gold, totaling five saves in three games.

Canisius (1-3-0) defeated the New Jersey Institute of Technology in its 2015 season opener but fell in the next three games on the road, including a 1-0 loss in its latest match against Saint Mary's.

The Golden Griffins have notched three goals, paced by Chris Berardi with two scores off five shots and Ryan Schroen, who drove home the third. Keeper Andrew Coughlin has played every minute for the Golden Griffs, acquiring 19 saves off 26 opponent attempts.  

Buffalo (3-1-1) kicked off the season with three home wins against Seton Hall, Belmont and Canisius, outscoring its adversaries, 10-5.

Russel Cicerone and Scott Doney lead the Bulls' attack, each finishing three attempts in the back of the net. Cicerone has also dished out three helpers, while Doney contributed two. Goalie Cameron Hogg has started all five games for the Bulls, raking in 21 saves off 26 attempts.
