Three School Records Broken at Brown Track Invite

PROVIDENCE, R.I.- The Bryant men's and women's track and field teams had solid performances at yesterday's Alden Invitational, hosted by Brown. A pair of overall wins and a trio of new school records highlighted the proceedings for the Bulldogs. Emma Garrity, Lois Warden, and William Remkiewicz set school records in their respective events, while Garrity and the men's 4x400 relay team picked up overall wins.

 

Bulldog Notes and Notables

  • Emma Garrity won overall in the 500 meters, setting a school record and qualifying for the NEICAAA meet in the process with a time of 1:16.30.

  • Lois Warden also set a new school record and qualified for NEICAAA's in the pole vault. She was tied for second in the event with a height of 3.40 meters.

  • William Remkiewicz set a new school record in the 300 meters, coming second in the event with a time of 35.46 seconds.

  • The men's 4x400 relay team took the other win for Bryant. Andrew Canale, Ethan Ferraiola, Jacob Goodman, and Remkiewicz combined for a time of 3:23.32.

  • The women's 4x400 team also had a good run, coming in third. Grace Yost, Savannah Pineda, Rebecca Reynolds, and Garrity finished with a time of 4:07.55.

  • Brett Cloutier and Grant Dubiel both moved into the top five all-time at Bryant in the indoor shot put. Cloutier's throw of 15.07 meters put him 2nd on the all-time list and 4th in the event. Dubiel is now 4th on Bryant's list with a distance of 14.04 meters, which was good for 7th in the event. 

  • Shileigh Martinez came 5th in the pole vault at 3.35 meters. The jump was just short of her personal best, but still gives her two jumps on Bryant's top five list all-time. Sydney Golas's jump of 2.95 meters also puts her 5th on Bryant's list.

  • Andrew Canale's time of 35.90 in the 300 puts him third on Bryant's all-time list.

  • Nicole Xiarhos and Savannah Pineda had similarly good runs in the women's 300. Xiarhos is now third all-time at Bryant with a time of 43.33, while Pineda is fourth on the all-time list at 43.35.

  • Edward Caldarelli also put himself in the top five on Bryant's all-time records. His run of 7.18 in the 60 meter dash is now fifth all-time.
