Two School Records Broken at BU Track Invite

BOSTON, MA- The Bryant track and field teams competed this past weekend in the Terrier Invitational at Boston University. William Bittrich and Lois Warden each set school records for the Bulldogs, while John Carlo Baratta took an event win in the 60 meter dash.

Bulldog Notes and Notables

  • William Bittrich set a new school record in the 500 meters with a time of 14:52.05. It was also the third best time in the conference this season. Ryan Slaney also ran a time of 15:07.16, good for fourth in the NEC and fourth on Bryant's all-time list.

  • Lois Warden's height of 3.45 meters in the pole vault broke her own school record, set earlier this season. The mark was ninth in the event and fifth in the NEC this season.

  • John Carlo Baratta won the 60 meter dash with a time of 7.12. The time was also the third best in Bryant's history.

  • Emma Garrity placed tenth in the 400 meters with a time of 57.61. Her time is the second best in the conference this year and and qualified her for the NEICAAA meet.

  • Andrew Canale qualified for the NEICAAA meet with a 48.13 in the 400 meters. He finished fourth in the event and set the second best time on the NEC season leaderboard.

  • Aidan Hickey and Owen Molis both put themselves in the top ten on the conference leaderboard with their runs in the 800 meters. Hickey (1:54.62) is third in the conference this season while Molis (1:55.85) is sixth.

  • Abby Hamilton and Julia Ayres both ran top five times in the conference in the 5000 meters. Hamilton is now third with a time of 18:36.14, while Ayres is fourth at 18:37.57.

  • The Bulldogs will send seven athletes to next weekend's NEICAAA New England Championships in Boston. Andrew Canale (400m), William Remkiewicz (400m), William Bittrich (5000m), Caleb Tondora (high jump), and Brett Cloutier (shot put) will be going on the men's side while Emma Garrity (400m, 500m, 600m) and Lois Warden (pole vault) will be competing for the women.
