Bulldogs Post Five Event Wins at Black and Gold Invitational

SMITHFIELD, R.I.- The Bryant track and field teams brought home five event wins in this weekend's Black and Gold Invitational, their lone home meet of the 2022 season. Program records were either tied or broken in the women's pole vault, men's high jump, women's 400 meters, women's 4x100 relay, and men's 4x800 relay. Both squads placed third out of thirteen teams in the event.

Bulldog Notes and Notables

• The women's 4x100 relay team of Savannah Pineda, Jasmine Hope, Christina Capozzi, and Nicole Xiarhos took first place, setting a new school record of 47.95 seconds.

• Emma Garrity won the 400 meters with a time of 55.23, over a second clear of the runner up. Her time set a new meet record and is second in program history.

• The quartet of Nolan Hickey, Jason Dolan, Owen Molis, and Aidan Hickey finished first and set a new school record of 7:42.48 in the Maggie Mae (In Honor of Shawn Nassaney) 4x800 relay.

• Lois Warden won the women's pole vault with a height of 3.55 meters. The vault tied the program record, set by herself and Shiliegh Martinez last season.

• Mike Marshall Jr. tied the Bryant record in the Tondora Family men's high jump, doing so in his first collegiate track meet. His jump of 1.95 meters was good for second place in the event.

• William Remkiewicz and Andrew Canale took home a 1-2 finish for Bryant in the Go Jake Go! men's 400. Remkiewicz crossed the line first with a time of 48.55.
