GLOVER HONORED WITH RIAIAW AWARD

NEWPORT, R.I.- After completing one of the most successful four-year careers of any athlete to come through Bryant University, Delia Glover (Marston Mills, Mass.) was honored with the RIAIAW Award in a ceremony last week at Salve Regina University in Newport, Rhode Island .

SMITHFIELD, R.I. - After a strong inaugural season of Division I play in 2008, the Bryant University volleyball team is ready to jumpstart Year Two, and head coach Theresa Garlacy is pleased to announce the addition of a quartet of talented incoming freshmen to the Bulldogs' returning core, a group that will put the Bulldogs in prime shape to take on the Northeast Conference in 2009.

SMITHFIELD, R.I. - Former assistant coach Lauren Amundson was named head volleyball coach at Division II Stonehill College Monday afternoon, as announced by Stonehill Athletic Director Brendan Sullivan. Amundson spent two seasons with the Bulldogs, helping the program transition into the Division I ranks in 2008.

SMITHFIELD, RI - More than 100 family and friends, teammates and coaches, Bryant University welcomed four new members into its Athletics Hall of Fame Friday evening at the Bello Center. This years Class includes Kevin Barletta 03 (Mens Lacrosse), Bumni Akinnusotu 03 (Womens Volleyball) Bobby Brown 90 (Golf) and Greg Wolyniec 01 (Football).

The 2008-09 athletic year was supposed to be a special one in the halls of the Chace Athletic Center and the rest of the Bryant University community, but no one knew just how exceptional it would turn out to be. Despite 20 total kills from freshman Maria Scocca (Melrose, Mass.), the Bryant University volleyball team couldnt pull out a win in its two-match opening day of the 2008 National Transitions Challenge hosted by the Bulldogs, as Bryant fell to Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville, 3-1, before losing to the University of South Dakota, 3-0, at the Chace Athletic Center Friday.
