SOMERSET, NJ – A total of 35 Bryant University student-athletes have been named to the Northeast Conference Winter Academic Honor Roll, including four student-athletes earning Winter Commissioner’s Honor Roll distinction announced this week by the conference office.

SMITHFIELD, R.I. - Bryant University freshman Vlad Kondratyev (Nikolayev, Ukraine) earned the first Northeast Conference honor in men's basketball program history, capping off a stellar rookie campaign with an NEC All-Rookie Team selection, as voted on by league coaches and announced by the conference Tuesday.

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Freshman Raphael Jordan (Bel Air, Md.) led the Bulldogs in scoring for the third-consecutive game Saturday afternoon in the 2010 season finale, but his 10 points weren’t enough to keep the Bryant University men’s basketball team from dropping its final game of the season, losing, 71-54, to Long Island University on Senior Day at the Chace Athletic Center.

SMITHFIELD, R.I. -- The Bryant University men's basketball team wraps up this year’s action Saturday afternoon when the Bulldogs host Long Island University at the Chace Athletic Center for the 2009-10 season finale (3:30 p.m.). The contest is a rematch of the Northeast Conference opener back on December 3 in Brooklyn, N.Y., a contest the Blackbirds took, 62-46. Bryant looks for its first victory in front of the home crowd in its last contest of the year.

SMITHFIELD, R.I. -- Bryant hosts St. Francis (NY) Thursday night at the Chace Athletic Center to open the final homestand of 2009-10 action (7:30 p.m.). The contest is a rematch of the teams' December 5 matchup at the Pope Center, a contest the Terriers took, 54-48, despite a late Bulldogs lead. Bryant looks for its first victory in front of the home crowd and will have two chances before wrapping up the season Saturday afternoon.

SMITHFIELD, R.I – Raphael Jordan (Bel Air, Md.) scored 20 points and grabbed 11 rebounds but it was not enough as visiting St. Francis (NY) rallied late in regulation after trailing the entire game and pulled out a 69-60 overtime win over Bryant University in Northeast Conference action Thursday night.

EMMITSBURG, MD - Freshman Raphael Jordan (Bel Air, Md.) scored a career-high 19 points on Saturday night as the Bryant University men's basketball team brought its road season to close as it was defeated, 74-45, at NEC foe Mount St. Mary's.

SMITHFIELD, R.I. -- The Bulldogs wrap up their 2009-10 road schedule Saturday night at 7 p.m. when they look for their second win in as many games in Emmitsburg, Md. This is the first and only meeting of the year between the Mountaineers and the Bulldogs, who have just three games remaining. Bryant enters the game fresh off its first victory of the season, a 53-51 down-to-the-wire win over Wagner College Thursday night on the road.

Early Thursday, Bryant coach Tim O’Shea sent me a quick iPhone video showing the view from his hotel room in New Jersey. The view was of a power line and a highway. The sky was dreary and gray. O’Shea was saying the gloom and doom of the day was not a good omen.

STATEN ISLAND – It was the biggest stage freshman guard Raphael Jordan (Bel Air, Md.) has stood on in quite some time. With just eight-tenths of a second left in regulation, tied at 51-51, the rookie stepped up to the line with a chance to not make history – and that, in this case, was a good thing.

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Sorena Orandi scored a game-high 13 points to lead four players in double figures as visiting Saint Francis (PA) won its first Northeast Conference road game since the 2007-08 season, cruising to a 60-34 win over host Bryant University at the Chace Athletic Center Thursday night.
