SMITHFIELD, R.I. Bryant University head football coach Marty Fine is pleased to announce the captains for the upcoming 2010 season. This years captains as voted on by the team are: senior tight end Doug Emerzian (Rowley, Mass./ Triton Regional), senior linebacker Jason Riffe (Newton, Mass. / Newton North), senior running back Mike Canfora (Verona, N.J. / Verona) and senior defensive back Addison Lynch (Braintree, Mass./ Braintree).

SMITHFIELD, R.I Head coach Marty Fine and the Bryant University football team wrapped up the 2010 spring football season Saturday with the annual Black & Gold Spring game at Bulldog Stadium. More than 1,500 fans and alumni turned out to see the Bulldog offense defeat the defense 34-16 on a cloudy but dry afternoon at Bulldog Stadium.

SMITHFIELD, R.I. Bryant University will officially conclude 2010 spring football practice this Saturday, April 17 with the annual Black & Gold Spring Game. This years exhibition will kick off at noon at Bulldog Stadium and will lead up to a mens lacrosse home showdown with Northeast Conference foe Sacred Heart (2 p.m.).

SMITHFIELD, R.I. Bryant University football coach Marty Fine is pleased to announce the signing of 27 student-athletes to National Letters of Intent to enroll and participate in intercollegiate football at the school this fall. The Class of 2014 includes student-athletes from nine different states and features a balance of 11 offensive and 14 defensive players.

SMITHFIELD, R.I. - Former Bryant University football standout Lorenzo Perry will be recognized with a Community Service Award in February by the Rhode Island sports media at the annual Words Unlimited Banquet. Perry has worked with children in the Mount Hope Neighborhood Association of Providence and coached the neighborhoods Pop Warner football team to a New England championship.

SMITHFIELD, R.I Eligible for postseason honors for the first time, the Bryant University football team was well represented on the 2009 Northeast Conference All-Star teams announced Monday by the league office. Competing in only its second year at the Division I level, Bryant posted a 5-6 overall record this past fall and finished tied for fifth place in the NEC with a 4-4 conference record.

PITTSBURGH, Pa. Sophomore quarterback Mike Croce (Waterbury, Conn.) completed 18 of 35 passes for 208 yards while senior running back Jerell Smith (Brooklyn, N.Y.) rushed for 96 yards as the Bryant University football team closed out its second year competing at the Division I level with a 20-0 win at Duquesne University Saturday.
